Renting a dog! -PET RENTAL PROGRAM

Ever heard of Dog for Rent?

Renting/Loaning a dog is a programme if im not mistaken, started in japan and then slowly introduced to America.

It works really well specially for Shelter. You can google "Flexpetz" if you want to know more but here i'll brief you a little as im going to put scurvie for Rent.

Renting/some call loaning makes you a temporary owner of the dog. Good thing is there won't be "regret" after you decide to adopt the dog. Renting a dog allows you to spend a short time with the dog but in that short time you'll be able to experience feeding, cleaning, training etc..

This is like a "test" to see if you are capable, if rented doggie is suitable to be in your home. The renting days are set are best to be less than 2 weeks. You can always return the dog if it's a trouble for you between this 2 weeks.

after 2 weeks is due and you think you want to try a few more weeks the only thing is to get the rescuers informed.

Charges are up to rescuers whether they want to charge per day or hours.

In my case, renters are require to :-
1) Fill up Renting form (provide detail)
2) Dog will be delivered to renter's house.
3) Dog must be returned in good shape.
4) RM200 will be charge for dog renting. Maximum 2 weeks renting. Full amount will be return on the day of dog's return.

Renters wants to be adopter :-
1) Another adoption form to fill.
2) RM200 will still be return to renters as I accept donation ONLY.

Yi

21 June 2012 Back to Nature1 ~ Awanmulan | Arriving, The View, The Rooms

It was a gift to my lovely sister. Another sister of mine suggested this place since long. Finally we get to enjoy a family trip!

Awanmulan is the place. it's located at Seremban. and so~ Seremban's beef noodle is well-known! We stop by seremban's pasar besar for brunch.

i'm sorry i do not have any picture of the beef noodle shop. for 2 reason, 1st i don't eat beef, 2nd, there's a dog i'm carrying. it was really hot in the pasar besar. everyone eye-ing on my dog. i have no choice really. can't just leave her in the car.

So, maps and direction are provided. owner says you can't reach the place with GPS. our thinking is.. "u see narrow road, don't doubt!" unless you're falling down the hill of course :P

it says awanmulan. shall i say creative? hehe Finally we see some little different things! and it's really a relieve..(after going through all the wrong directions)

and this is our area too..the place we gonna stay for a night.
We stays at Room Sunrise and Zen. this is the steep(1st one) to go to our room. and then followed by the 2nd steep steps. room you see on top is the room above us. it's what we see after reaching the end of our first steep walk way.

and here's the second step way we use to go to Zen.
So this is Zen! Zen is smaller compare to Sunrise. we booked both rooms as we are in bigger group. we have total of 7 person and 1 dog :P

The owners of the place are really nice. They guide us all the way. However, there are also some things that we can't do. sorry i do not remember. the one thing i remember most is my dog cannot go in the swimming pool and we cannot do all the monkey work(climbing) hahaha We accepted all regulation with respect.

My Snowie is so lost she do not know where she is. she check out the place for more than an hour but still very lost. So she decided to follow me all the time.

I like the toilet very much. So.......................naturally build! haha and of course, not to forget it has got a very special door knob.

Speaking of door knob. Room Zen have this very special door knob to Room Sunrise. my sister was afraid to open it! interesting isn't it?

And this is our room at Sunrise!

How dare i forget to show the greatest thing of all! Our View! What we enjoy!!!
This is what we get to see. the other rooms in awanmulan.

On rainy days, we try to put our phone away and read the books, enjoy the scenery with a cup of coffee It's pure enjoy!! :)
While my brother enjoy drawing the scenery all the while. my parents enjoy watching him hahaha

The fun thing is Swimming!!! but i won't be posting any photos as we tend to lost our mind when we're in the water. do all crazy stuff!! Snowie was a little worried i'm gonna dump her. every time when i go to the pool she became so noisy!

our main point gonna come in my next post. i notice this post is getting longer and a little bit lag as well. so the rest will go to the next post. ;)

The Wallet with an invisible hole ~

So i was talking to a rescuer friend about dogs. and she mentioned she just got back from the veterinary. She said there's a "hole" in a wallet.. money keep going out. Those she earn will eventually go out too. What i told her is, use the "tape to seal it up". and then i added. dogs are "expensive".

I start to think about the rescue work. She once told me.."you want to do rescue, u have to earn." or "without a job, you cannot rescue". In fact, it is rather hard :) The time she told me that, i was fostering puppies. i didn't spend a penny. oh yes i did. on their "very urgent" food/medicine. I wasn't working. but i stay home all day. that somehow, secure my wallet for a while.

Now that i rescued a mange dog. that's more than "staying at home" to save. The expenses goes up to more than thousand bucks. and it feels like, my wallet have an invisible hole. NOT to forget, i have my own dog. who also have a mild cardiac disease and soon will have to go for a blood test and scalling + remove lump.

Every rescuer's wallet have an invisible hole. Some big one and some small. but good enough to allow the money to "leak" or fly away. Of course when we notice the wallet is in such bad shape, we apply for help. These kind people give us the masking tape and glue, or even help us sew them back. Of course they couldn't fully seal the wallet hole. because it is invisible. We couldn't see, we couldn't touch. How can it possibly sealed again?

If you're new to rescuing. don't let my words turn u down. Because in our life, we do not need a wallet to get hold of us. It's all in our heart. and that is the thing that matter. That is the thing that keep us going. Keep us doing. Keep us stressing. Then finally keep us Happy.

Love,
PeiYi

Final 2 days with Sabrina Yeap | Funeral @ Nirvana crematoriom

Received an email from Salehin and noted that the Dr dogs will lead the cortege on Sabrina's funeral day. Thought it would be the last time Snowie and i get to "work" with her. So i went to the memorial center early in the morning.

Salehin was already there when i reach. He was with his two dogs. the well-known Dr Kylie and Dr Sammy. It's our pleasure to meet them both.

We waited just for a while. Soon to lead the cortege. All of the Dr Dogs handler has arrived. We took some group photos before the media arrive. Also few other group photos after the media arrive.

Snowie was well behaved on that day.

We lead the cortege around 950am if im not mistaken. it was just a short while. We were surrounded by medias and photographers. I notice one guy trying to hold his tears so badly but he didn't realize his eyes and face was soaking wet while he try taking more pictures. From my view, and from his face, i know this person know Sab very well. In fact.. soon after i notice he's steven goh the photographer. I used to see many pictures of FFF taken by him.

When we reach the crematorium center. My heart sank. It feels like ur in the movie. A really sad movie. In fact this is even more sad than those in the movie.

it's also my first time at the crematorium center. I've never attended any funeral before. The Dr dog handlers were ushered into the first row. That's the place we pay our last respect. I couldn't help but cry when the casket was lift into the narrow space. because i know. once cremated. nothing left but bones and ashes. We won't get to see her again.

Many people came out from the hall with teary eyes. Everytime a volunteer talks to me. I'd burst into tears and give them a hug to avoid having them meeting my eyes.

I met her twice. Just twice. and i cried so bad. i couldn't imagine the people who have been working with her all the time. especially the volunteers. the ones who spend most of the times with her. How they bare the pain. for this i respect them. They are strong! and i believe FFF will be as good as when Sab was managing. Rest In Peace my angel :)

I didn't stay long. I left for work soon after i pay my respect to everyone.

In case you were not there. You may watch this news below. Tanti was so sweet to share this to those who couldn't make it to the wake or funeral. What happen has already happened. lets cheerio and move on. Be a better person ;)

My condolences,
Pei Yi

The final 2 Days with Sabrina Yeap | 19 July The Wake

It was deadly shock when i found out Sabrina's death is not a joke! Acute leukemia took Sabrina away from us.

Probably there's alot of people who doesn't know what Sabrina do in her life. I get to know Sabrina when i signed up for Dr. Dog programme. I've met her twice only.

My first time was at Doggywood. The time when i spoke to John Landon about the only problem Snowie couldn't join the Dr Dog as Snowie would bark at other dogs. I was lucky to meet him that day. Sabrina and all the other volunteers were there. John took Snowie's leash and said he'd do an immediate assessment for her. She passed the exam. and i remember Sabrina was calling the volunteers to take a picture of Snowie.

My second time was at Snowie's first Dr Dog visit to Hua Ming Autism Center. Sabrina is always busy video and snapping camera of us. She would say "u have to approach them" when i sit at the corner waiting for the kids to approach.

I met her twice. but i know alot of her. i know what she do and what a kind and hard working person she is. That's the reason i feel so sad when all of us lost her. She's an angel. God sent. And just so soon...she left..

Sabrina's wake was on the next day after she left. Her funeral was sponsored by Nirvana memorial center. I went to her wake together with my cousin sister on thursday, 19th July. It's very kind of Nirvana to allow dogs to visit her wake. I brought Snowie along. I'm glad i brought Snowie and Yoyo because they both will cheer me up much.

Her wake was packed with so many people. mostly rescuers - those that i recognize. I didn't shed a tears that day. i was busy handling Snowie. She appear to be abit nervous. Yoyo was the one who has that redden eyes after she see the story of her life on the display board.

We spend some time around. Chit chat around. and left at 11pm. Before we walk out to the parking lot, we walk around the Nirvana memorial center. The place is crazy! it's so luxurious and it actually look better than a hotel. it does make us feel more comfy tho...

It's my first time to a wake. how embarrassing.. Yoyo and i didn't know what is the white pouch for. She place it in the bag when a volunteer hand it to her. We then found out that it's to put the money "pak kam". We can't help think back how ugly it is to pass the money from wallet to hand.. sigh.. this shows us.. what happen had already happen.. we can't possibly ask the money back from the volunteer then place in the white pouch then give back to her. just like what happen to Sab. We can't possibly have her back. what we can do is learn whats worth, and walk with her. Till one day we'll meet again...

We'll miss you,
Pei Yi

Dr Snowie 2nd Visit | Again to Hua Ming Autism Center | 25 June 2012

So it's another Dr Dog visit. This time to the same place. Which make it so convenient for me (im too bad with direction).

We're late to the place. well...It took quite a long time for snowie to poo poo. She eat slow too! Argh the traffic was bad too...! ok fine! i woke up a little late =.= no point blaming poor doctor now :P

So we waited for someone to open the door. We stood right in front of Hua Ming Center. Rang the bell like more than ten times. (IM SURE THEY WERE HAVING FUN UPSTAIR!) We finally got in after i made a call to our coordinator John.

The brown dog welcomed us with barking ! well, "hi" haha. Seems like The brown didn't really like Snowie. I was late and i didn't have time for them to make friends yet. So i eyed the handler. We keep a distance between the 2 doctors.

I find my favourite area (leaning the wall) to sit. Didn't realize that the place was NOT noisy. Oh! kids were seperated into 4 groups. 15 minute at a time. It's definitely a way better arrangement. Less screaming this time. Less grabbing too.

Dr Snowie feel so used to it now. So as the kids. most of them are excited to see dogs. Of course there are those that are afraid of dogs. Which are those that i won't approach as that's one of our rules. never force those who are scared of dogs to touch a dog.

I find it fast. Way too fast to end. Am not sure if its because i came late. Snowie was calm all the time. erm.. except when one of the kid guidance tried hugging her. She pulled herself off the guidance. LoL.

So yeah! it ended just nice! i tried making Dr Brenda (the brown) and Dr Snowie Friends. :)

Snowie's home and tired hehe

but i'd say she did a great job! love her so much muaksi !! <3 <3 <3
