Prey Model Raw for Crystals

turns out that snowie have both Struvite and Calcium Oxalate crystals. It was an early stage. we've only found numerous of it. Struvite was found in the second test under scope.

This is the first report. the vet sent wrong information on AGE! Numerous Calcium oxalate crystals was found in this report. So i was so worry!~

the doctor suggest i put my dog on Royal Canin SO diet for 3 months until crystal clear i can put her back to her normal diet. SO is so expensive! Her alternative is Hills. I checked the ingredients on the internet. OMG! even if it did clear the crystals, my dog might end up obese! So i look for more alternative.

I checked out raw diet. For me its not cheap either. So i made a phone call to the vet and ask again. just one question. "does S/O permanently clear up the crystal? or will it be back?". Her answer is "yes it might be back" So i made my decision to put her on raw diet.

If you've notice my older post, you'll see i've fed a rescued dog (Clover) a raw diet before.

But again, Snowie is my favourite and is a precious to me. i did deeper research.

Recently i bring her for a urine test again. after 3 or 4 months raw. supplement with cranberry juice. A rescuer friend taught me to feed her that. but snowie's urine is abit more to acidic. i doubt about how cranberry juice will help my dog. i feed it anyway!~  2ml a day.

check out the latest result. i was shocked! i said so loud to the vet " No casts or crystals seen"??????????? He looked at me with eyes wide open, and said "yes, basically the result is very well, for a 11 years old, this is very healthy". The only thing he wants me to find out is why is the urine so loose. with USG 1.025 only!

I was thinking maybe its because i added water in her meal. that's why its so diluted. i hope it's not a kidney problem.

So i've settled Crystals! i am still supplementing her with cranberry juice. but less. 1ml per day.

Never Dance Alone | Hong Kong Tv Show

still can't believe im writing about a tvb show.

This is a friendship show. Normally when i know that it's about friendship i won't watch it. i don't like the friendship bullshit. specially from tvb. they are so fake.

What attract me here is the cast! They are once upon a time famous celebrities! Finally we're seeing something that is "Old-fresh" (what?). TVB actress nowadays are kind of boring. but these young girls are very good! the young M-Club really look like the grown up cast.

Second its the songs. i'll post few links here.



This is one of my favourite! it always make me cry. very old huh? hahha

Saddest part is when Siu Tze's husband died. Not because he died, reason is because she watch him die. She couldn't even tear because the husband died because of her. Until a day she started dancing with her bunch of old friends.. laughing and dancing.. and then break down crying. Really sad scene to see her finally crying.

I think it's worth watching.  ;)

29th May 2014 | two month anniversary on RAW

Snowie started raw on 29th March. So she's been on two months. Her switch was a little difficult. and her detox was really long. the tears, the shedding, the smell!!!! argh! i'm happy to see that tho..

We've started our third protein. Duck. She seems fine with it. i can't wait to do offals.

The obvious change is smoother fur. more energetic, and a surprise i found yesterday when i check her teeth. such clean and nice bright teeth. If only i have a "before" picture! you'd understand how a happy mother i am!

 She used to have really bad teeth. Brownish, black stain on gum with tartar. Her vet did warn me to watch for her teeth as it will affect her heart as well(she have heart murmur). i was so worry i put her to scalling last year. and i brushes her teeth with orozyme. that was when she was still on kibble. The tartar quickly build up after the scaling. it only lasted a month of clean teeth.

Slowly she starts having aweful breath. I've never smell something that bad in her past 11 years. when she pant. The whole room was filled with her bad breath.

2 weeks after i switched her to raw there's no more bad breath. (i even brought her to the vet regarding her breath, the vet find it normal for an old dog.)

I know many people still do not like idea of raw feeding theirs or "ours" (u know those people) dogs. i also know the fact that the theory is not backed by a scientist or researcher. but how much do u know about kibbles too? the pedigree commercial says "scientifically proven pet food". and all i see in their ingredients are corn, fillers..

your dog's diet is your own choice. i do have friends coming to ask me how to switch to raw diet. i gave them my advice but at the same time i asked them to read more online. Some people are really lazy to read. they just want to try. but don't you wanna know how to do it the right way? and how to feed it balanced? i always offer to send them the starter guide so they can read it briefly. but they want me to spoon feed them. Seriously??? i don't mind giving an advice or two AFTER you've read something. if you're that lazy to read up. i suggest u go back to what u've been feeding.

Lots of people wouldn't do their own research and end up blaming the person who taught them. and blaming RAW killed their dogs! which in fact, they are the one who killed their dogs. so READ!!!RESEARCH!

Lastly, i'm not a "Raw advocate". just another owner who wants to give the best to her own baby. If there's something even better than raw. i don't mind trying. but if raw helps to keep my old gal healthier. i'll stick to it. i guess all owners out there are the same. and i hope they are the same.

Snowie's Diet Change | Prey Model Raw | 29 March 2014

Snowie's first switch to raw meal finally. Didn't expect that early but we discover Calcium Oxalate Crystals in her urine. After going through internet and the most advice is switch your dog to raw. So i did. I'm gonna try.

However, Snowie have a really sensitive stomach and get diarrhea easily. I did a mistake on her raw menu.

She's been on kibble for 10 years. My previous raw feeding experience was with Clover, and she's a robust. i should have been more careful.

That day when she have gurgling noise in her stomach. She won't eat when she have upset tummy.

Her stomach was upset starting the 3rd day. I'm always ready to wake up in the midnight for her to go poo poo. a loose poo or a soft one. Then i fix her diet with more bone content and with help of pumpkin. She finally had a solid poo on end of 2nd week.


Then i stopped giving pumpkin. thought all was well and i started giving more meat and less bone. I admit here this is my mistake. I've been giving chicken keel with so less bone. sometimes she gets to eat chicken feet as a snack. So there goes my nightmare again. Loose poop.

She was suppose to start taking beef, her second protein on the 4th week but we couldn't make it. her poo was never solid off pumpkin. I am going too fast on her.

So i buy a bottle of digestive enzyme. i should've bought it on the first day of raw. After that day with digestive enzyme she wake me every few hour in the midnight to go for poop. Mucus poo! she even puke twice in the morning. Today is the third day with digestive enzyme and her poop is starting to shape, although still soft.

The change so far that is obvious is the bad breath. She got no more stinky bad breath. i can put my nose really close to her mouth even when she's breathing hard.

She started detoxing on the 3rd week. Scratching, fur shed, tears, smelly poo. i should be happy for that. All the toxic from 10 years of kibble is starting to shed!

Hopefully  her tummy will adjust quickly with the digestive enzyme. i really want her to be on raw. It's the most natural food for dog that i believe in. She's old and i hope she can live longer.

As for her eating style. it's really cute. for the first day, she was unsure whether she can really eat it. So she's slow and i let her be.

Then it's Chicken feet, i normally hold chicken feet with my hand to feed her since it's so small and im afraid she will choke on it. After she get used to eating bone, i place it in her bowl to let her handle the feet herself. and then she'd look at me. Sometimes i'd pamper her and "ok i'll feed you". sometimes not. I say Eat it.. and she will.. although she hope i can really feed her.

I teaches her how to wait before food. i don't do that on kibble. I bought her the blue towel. So everytime when the food drop outside of towel i'd say "take it back". She will.. the towel now become her "Eating zone". i love how obedient she become.

So i tried the Etsy Fee Calculator provided. hmm.. so many charges. i wonder why are there so many people using Etsy. guess i'll need more research before i start losing so much money on one site.

Rm5 lunch plan!

Its my second week of recovering my wallet. Oh! Or maybe i should say, saving money for Snowie's future diet!

Snowie was suppose to go raw after a few months - a year. That was my plan. But plan always change. Due to the calcium oxalate crystals found in her urine ive decided not to take the S/O and go for raw diet.

It's going to be in two weeks time. Glad i found a wholesaler of cheaper meat.

But still.. i can't spend so much anymore. She's on prilium the heart liquid medicine and many other supplements.

Im trying to find the best way to save money. I notice the most we spend is on food, coffee.. so my plan is to find lunch with budget not more than rm5.

Going to mall is the most suffering to me. I'd tell my sister 'you know? At this second I'm suppose to be holding a cappuccino ice from pacific coffee? '

Yes it's tough! Most of my meals are instant noodle ( I'm addicted) . Yesterday i manage to find one rm2.50 lunch from street side. And man! I suffer the stomach ache in the mid night. Sucks!

My sis and i both agreed, that we'll only go for one good meal with no budget, once in a month. Sounds great! We've already enjoyed our March great meal. I can't wait for April to come!

Right now the only thing i fear most is ppl would invite me out for a drink. My job ain't stable YET! Can't wait for more job to pour in then probably i can enjoy 2 great meal in a month :p

Baby Boo the amigurumi | Orange

 been searching for the next amigurumi to begin with. dragon still abit too hard for me. then i found this free pattern from craftsy forum. here's the pattern.

it's a pattern of monokuro boo. this orange one i make is a baby boo, another creation from the same person. the name is orange.

thanks to the forumer on craftsy, the pattern is very clear and easy to follow. it all started with a square crochet. then all the way down.

  

 

this boo baby is crochet in a continuous round. when i first make amigurumi i always lose track. so this time i place a marker. so much better. mark each round so you won't lose track ;)

 

the leg is seriously hard for me. but if you check the forum there is an explanation. but it takes really long time to understand it. i kept re-read the pattern and checking the forum. end up i manage to do it.

 

there goes my 4 legs. im pretty sure there is something wrong with it. i only notice that when i make it stand. but too late to fix as i already stuff the fillings.  

 

yarns are from daiso so as the stuffing. 

this is the stage where u have to start fill up the body with polyester stuffing ;) 

 

another plastic surgery hahah.. fix the feature in position and then start seaming them together. it feels weird still hahah 

 

So now Mr Murasaki have a new friend. baby boo ;)

two foster cases| dachshund and a cocker spaniel spitz mix

 i don't rescue or foster anymore. but people think of me when they found dogs. i can't help saying no sometimes. especially the lost dogs.

First it was my sister's friend. and she wants to take it. it's a cocker spaniel spitz mix. whatever! since it's my sister, i helped for that one. deal is she need to bear all the food and medical fee for the dog until owner is found.

the dog's name is Rover, we found the owner in one day time ;) He actually ran from SS19 to USJ2. % of dying in an accident is 90%. there is a busy road he have to cross from ss19 to usj2. Rover is only 2 years old. i guess he's really smart not being hit by one of the car. but looking at his wound, im sure he had fights with other dogs(he's not neuter). he have cuts on the eye, legs, and few more area of the body.

he is also dirty. not sure where he got it but he's been running in the rain sometimes. the second morning i cant stand his black stain and gave him a shower. He's okay for a shower and im glad. but the stain couldn't come off. well at least he's clean to touch now. He's tame but still have the habit of snapping sometimes. He'll bark really loud for attention. he won't allow me to walk Clover. i can hear his bark from near end of the street.


The owner came to collect him at night. we suggest she should neuter the dog already. clearly Rover ran away because there's stray around on heat.

CASE 2: Shorty! february 16 - 17

The second case i encounter is a friend living near by message me on facebook but i was playing game so didn't notice. next thing i know (im still playing game) is someone ring the bell and look for me. He say the dog was found wandering around usj as well. look very lost. so he took her but he doesn't have a place for her. wonder if i can keep it or he will have to send to PAWS. i don't know what to do. i don't feel taking any dog in anymore. but if a lost dog goes to paws, she might not find it's way back home anymore.

I took in. in condition that he have to cover her food and medical bill. well, food didn't turn up but im lucky that i have extra food samples. She didn't wanna eat anyway.

During the evening i try to walk the dog around to see if anyone lost their dachshund. there is not many people who rear a dachshund in the neighbourhood. i let the dog lead me but she herself couldn't find her way home. She is the shortest dog i've walk with in my life. i've never experience that before. pretty cool!

In facebook there's a person who claim that that is her dog. im not so sure. but one thing im sure is if this dog really lost her owner we wont have to worry there is no owner for her. early morning i've already receive a message asking for adoption.

I was so down because her condition is not that good. Her fur shed all around. very obvious that she have skin disease. I showered her in the afternoon. She shed so easily. when i try to pull off a dry skin on her skin the fur just came off. like cancer. =.=

same thing about this two case is i receive call when i shower them :] apparently this dog belong to a rich family but was placed outdoor. i guess that's why she have ticks and bad skin.

Owner came to collect around evening with some gift of appreciation - chicken essence and ang pao.
They seems very worry. dog's name is Dipo, she's an old dog and ran away when the cleaner came and opened the gate, the cleaner didn't notice they have a dog. that's normal. because we hardly see this fellar at home. for her safety we have to put her in the playpen so that our cars wont hit her. she's too short to be notice. Owner also said she doesn't know the way home.

Different theme!

finally changed the theme to brighty!! so not used to it! i still love the dark theme. well, i guess i need a little touch up ;\

The amigurumi troubles~ Birth of Mr. Murasaki from amigurumiMEI

been trying to crochet the easiest amigurumi. oh dear, i think im not the amigurumi type of person. im better off with crocheting clothes for dogs. the two plush i made is ugly.

my first try is the Turtle:

sometimes i cant even tell it's a turtle. LoL this is the simplest project so far but turns out to be the ugliest. oops! im gonna keep it anyway.

next one is something slightly different. it's a pattern i found online by amigurumiMEI. Mr Murusaki the owl.

the owl is way more organize than the turtle. but it's not nice too. sigh.. gonna try making something next. practice makes perfect!!

Blogger theme!

Yoz! i'm trying trying trying to change the theme of my blog. to brighter color. it's been dark since 2008. not sure if i can change it. if i manage to change it there's gonna be some words missing in certain post. since some of the words are changed to yellow or brighter color. we'll see ;)

Spent my 3 sunday at sstwo mall charity bazaar for the cherishlife home. yesterday's a wrap! really fun and good chance for snowie to socialize.

Panda was viewed and adopted there too. lucky place!!

Snowie is volunteering there too. to help with the fund raise part. She get pampered so well there. despite saying "she's on diet". the volunteers just cant stand her pearl eyes and would feed her chicken breast or even wan tan. haha .. lucky her..

Thank you Snowie for coming with me.. love you so so much!!

The SnowRious Picnic Party! Snowie turned 11 ! 12/01/14

it feels like only yesterday i was busy preparing Snowie's BIG 10! Yesterday everyone's busy preparing for Snowie's 11th! This time it's special. i'm unemployed and so i don't have the cost for a big party. what a coincidence that my friend's dog's birthday is on 13th january. And she suggested a low cost(without renting) party! a picnic! i was so happy for that suggestion! i've never done "picnic" before! and a big park! good chance for the dog owners to take their dog around.

We end up in Central park bandar utama. Her dog name is Curious(french bull dog) and hence, SnowRious Picnic party. We arrive early morning at 8:30am! i was abit late because the Papaya i prepared for the dogs are not "ready" to be eaten. My parents helped buy a new papaya from the wet market. Lilo and Pixie are both there already when im on the way :P

my friend Shirley do the catering part. She's there by the time i arrive. few of the guest are early. and im surprise. I thought Malaysian are always half an hour late? guess not for Dog Owners!

Snowie already know today is about her. She jumped in the car herself and cant wait to get off the car. She explore the whole park with more than 30 dogs from our side and 10 from the training classes which took place at central park too.

Curious, the other birthday girl was a little grumpy. Pixie, well.. bullied a dog that day but other than that all fine. The food is way more than enough. few friends from my side didn't turn up.

as for the dog's food. i prepared pork liver, sausages, papaya, and banana. quite a variety but shirley was right. When they are all out, with so many dogs around, they get so distracted and even a greedy dog wont eat so much.

Snowy is a shy dog.. this is the first time he hump other dog..

in fact, cannie's dog who named Snowy didn't touch a single food that day. He is just excited to the surrounding, the dogs, the people! So, many dog's food left that day =.=

After everyone's morning meal, it's birthday song and birthday cake time! everyone gather around for the two birthday girl Snowie and Curious! Curious is 5 this year. She is turning to mature golden age.

Some dogs did not eat the cake at all. like Snowy? he didn't touch the cake. So there's leftover for this 9" cake. we brought home since Snowie love it so much. So as Paulynn's homemade pumpkin treats. thanks for making it and i brought it home as well.

the Best "Worst" moment of the day= we say goodbye to half of the friends who signed the guest book without giving away the door gift!!! I can't belive it. we missed out so many people. i guess the human host are distracted as well >.< The door gift are placed in a big box and i just dont know why the big box is so invincible to me!

We all had a really great day. Snowie was then sent to basic grooming and i totally "lost conscious" on the floor at home after shower. it was such a good sleep! i guess that's all about the SnowRious party! 30 dogs, so many human, so many food, awesomeness! the only thing i hate is the big ant that keep falling off the tree on our body.. arghhh :\

As usual, Snowie's present is more than my own birthday. one of my favourite, dehydrated chicken snacks. Snowie really love that. and thanks douglas for the nail clipper! since grooming price raised, i'd like to try clipping her nail on my own. :)

P.S// another year passed. Snowie and i been together for 11 years. can u believe that? i want to celebrate her big day until she's 20! :) hopefully by next year my financial is stable and i'd be able to get her a little sister as companion.
