Snowie's Diet Change | Prey Model Raw | 29 March 2014

Snowie's first switch to raw meal finally. Didn't expect that early but we discover Calcium Oxalate Crystals in her urine. After going through internet and the most advice is switch your dog to raw. So i did. I'm gonna try.

However, Snowie have a really sensitive stomach and get diarrhea easily. I did a mistake on her raw menu.

She's been on kibble for 10 years. My previous raw feeding experience was with Clover, and she's a robust. i should have been more careful.

That day when she have gurgling noise in her stomach. She won't eat when she have upset tummy.

Her stomach was upset starting the 3rd day. I'm always ready to wake up in the midnight for her to go poo poo. a loose poo or a soft one. Then i fix her diet with more bone content and with help of pumpkin. She finally had a solid poo on end of 2nd week.


Then i stopped giving pumpkin. thought all was well and i started giving more meat and less bone. I admit here this is my mistake. I've been giving chicken keel with so less bone. sometimes she gets to eat chicken feet as a snack. So there goes my nightmare again. Loose poop.

She was suppose to start taking beef, her second protein on the 4th week but we couldn't make it. her poo was never solid off pumpkin. I am going too fast on her.

So i buy a bottle of digestive enzyme. i should've bought it on the first day of raw. After that day with digestive enzyme she wake me every few hour in the midnight to go for poop. Mucus poo! she even puke twice in the morning. Today is the third day with digestive enzyme and her poop is starting to shape, although still soft.

The change so far that is obvious is the bad breath. She got no more stinky bad breath. i can put my nose really close to her mouth even when she's breathing hard.

She started detoxing on the 3rd week. Scratching, fur shed, tears, smelly poo. i should be happy for that. All the toxic from 10 years of kibble is starting to shed!

Hopefully  her tummy will adjust quickly with the digestive enzyme. i really want her to be on raw. It's the most natural food for dog that i believe in. She's old and i hope she can live longer.

As for her eating style. it's really cute. for the first day, she was unsure whether she can really eat it. So she's slow and i let her be.

Then it's Chicken feet, i normally hold chicken feet with my hand to feed her since it's so small and im afraid she will choke on it. After she get used to eating bone, i place it in her bowl to let her handle the feet herself. and then she'd look at me. Sometimes i'd pamper her and "ok i'll feed you". sometimes not. I say Eat it.. and she will.. although she hope i can really feed her.

I teaches her how to wait before food. i don't do that on kibble. I bought her the blue towel. So everytime when the food drop outside of towel i'd say "take it back". She will.. the towel now become her "Eating zone". i love how obedient she become.

Sarcoptic Mange and Skin Problem | Home Remedies | Coconut Oil

If you notice my previous post, (just few post back, click it, click it, there you go), i was talking about home remedies for mange, and skin disease dog. I mentioned COCONUT OIL! Tadahhhhhhh!!!!! thats the one up there.

The first time i apply with bare hands. O.M.G! how can coconut oil be so smelly?????? sooner or later i start applying using disposable glove. Scurvie would lick all over the body. I let her take it since coconut oil is edible for dogs too. If you want to leave it then put her on E-Collar. Massage the oil into skin. leave it there.

Oh yes, it was in my previous post. I mentioned i sprayed apple cidar vinegar before applying. so it's smelly + smelly = Smelly.  ok i have to admit that i do not know if the apple cidar worked well. Before someone recommended coconut oil. i was using apple cidar vinegar only. i find that it ease itchness. So since no harm. i continued with apple cidar before applying coconut oil.

i only apply for 3 continuous days. then i thought of changing other remedies so i stopped. She have to be showered with Malaseb every 3 days. i was glad shower time is here. My mom helped clean the floor. everywhere is black and oily. it's difficult to clean. i suggest you place some disposable plastic before allowing your dog to sleep on it. even her leash..i soak in water for many days. rub with hands so that the dirts would come off.

OK ! too detailed on progress might scare you off. i'll let you know how it turns out to be.

This is her. A day or two after the shower. You can see that she look a little bit oily here and there (check the ears, and furs). Even after you comb and brush it, you can feel little oil on her body. That's NORMAL. Try soak your hair in coconut oil! ur gonna need long time to get it completely off. it's OIL!

and this was taken during our trip to the vet. which was after 3 days of applying coconut oil. (sorry visual is abit blur, dog move really fast you know?). It can obviously be seen or feel. Her fur is richer. She who have really dry fur turns out that it feels more smooth and silky. yes i said "silky"!

this view is clearer of how rich the fur is. her fur around the ear seems abit "wet". it's not actually wet. i applied ointment in the ear so turns out the fur around the ear looks thick.

i get little advice from friends who also hated the smell of coconut oil. replace it with olive oil. but i didn't try it. since coconut oil is working, i'm gonna bet on that. but i didn't use it everyday. nowadays i apply a day before her shower day.

just keep the floor clean. once or twice i saw ants (black) crawling around where there's stain of coconut oil. so we'll have to wash and clean all the time.

Snowie's BIG 10! 06/01/13

What the? i did not post about her big ten? it's horrible!

I'm not a party person. and i wanted to throw a party for Snowie's 10th birthday. i planned a month earlier. trying to make it simple.

first, it was the cake! i'm so amazed how JC from pawz bakery take it so easy. i thought we need to book 3 weeks earlier. turns out she's the one who said we'll talk about it after christmas. hehe. When she ask me what design do i want. I'm stunned. because i've never thought of the design. Her cake on her 9th birthday was based on a cake from her facebook page. i start to flip through her page again. chosen two to three sample. but end up not using it. i told her i want a "princess" theme.

i always treated her like a queen. so i thought maybe it's fine? So after x'mas when i was so nervous about it. She showed me 3 design. and we both agreed on one of the design.

She gave an extra 3' cake for Snowie's mascot to sit on. it end up couldn't fit in the fridge that i have to take out the tray. and still end up her crown became pineapple.

I made a list of guest a month in advance. in fact it's the first party i organized. So i'm inviting a smaller group. People and dogs Snowie encounter. i took a day off on that saturday to get things prepared. i did not have the time to prepare much and damn me i should have booked ohana for this birthday celebration! End up my mom and sister help me with the food.

and it's also last minute i did a guest book for Snowie's 10 years of memories. what a waste that i lost so many great photos of her and her friends daisy and bobo and happy.

Snowie was the host of the day. She's the only dog unleashed. but well, according to my friends she's always the one to start a fight. She wants to dominate other dogs ..:\ as for Scurvie, she barked at every arrival of guest. her territory is taken. but she should be glad that she get to eat doggie cake and lots of eggs.

very happy that Corgie came along. thanks to Olivia. i really miss this boy. he's the one that everyone praise cute! in fact he is! very special one.

 well it says Dog food but our dear guest tend to look around that area. i guess the height of our notice was not right. it was a dog's view? haha

after blood donation, we going to get harry and jack for dinner. "saja kacau". but our saja kacau made them "saja stay our house" :P so we're eating like king for that two days. but i took only pics from one place.

i'm impress with my parents haha we sit down for meal and they both do the ordering. and the food just won't stop coming. i never ate so much before. they ordered so many dish. everytime the food come harry n i will O.O then "wow", "we're like the king from tvb movie, the food fit the whole table" hahaha

It's a COOKING day~~

no lunch again...=|

i feel wanna fry noodle, but look at the pan for so long, think of the progress...lazy shit..

but after i cook noodle, gas open, oil ready..=p im gonna fry noodle!!

it's not too bad..i mean the taste..lin say nice =P

and the progress...is like sweat sweat!!

i don't remember when is the last time i cook..it's like so rush??i cook like mad cow!!

can't believe i suddenly can't cook already...=(

when the noodle is almost done, the pan is almost "done" too..kinda..errr...stick pan and black..then my brother shout from the computer room say "going to burn d"..

i feel asking him to shaddap!!!his so far and he know whats happening...dam him!!

ahaha the moment i put in the noodle, my brother say "wah smell nice" and after just few minutes, it become "it's burning already".

it's dirty everywhere, cuz i'm cooking like a mad cow..!!so i have to clean up everything before i eat..see..the progress, sure makes people lazy to cook...

and awww...my sis came back at the right time, (she wants me to clean snowie's poo =.=) and i keep dragging her to try my noodle..


she like it..she say its looks ugly but nice..then i let boy try it..he say nice..awwwwwwwww~~~~~happie~~~

i wanted to let my dad try..don't dare =( but i know he sure like it..cause it's very salty!!
