you DID NOT save them, you KILLED! | Guide on picking up strays / litters

Often i see people who wants to do rescue works. but they do not know how to start, or do not bother to ask. Recently there's this case in a rescuer's rented house. She rented the house specially for a group of rescued dogs. What she havent expect the worst to come is people dump and dump dogs at her place, then letting other people know the address. It didn't just happen to her home. in fact, this is a very bad habit of SOME "Very Smart" human. they just either dump them at the shelter or rescuer's home without Showing their face to the person in charge.

Let me tell you what happen to this dog. This beautiful used to be a very healthy dog. As you know, people would come and dump a puppy into this rescuer's home. The thing that this person did not know is the dog he dumped in the house, is a Distemper dog. Distemper is a highly contagious disease that can be spread easily and it is air borne.

very unfortunate, Shera and some other dogs were in contact with this dog the whole night.

Her name is Shera...her mother is one of the dog Puspa Rani feeds everyday in Broga .......
''The dogs n me was very happy there until one day, someone dumped a pup into the compound....average 1 to 2 pups a week were dumped in the house.
When I woke up in the morning, I saw this pup playing with my dogs ( Rescued Strays). So, took the pup to the vet n everything was ok. But actually, this pup was a carrier for distemper virus...
When, he started showing symptoms for distemper...it was too late.... We quarantined a dog for 2 weeks before we introduce to the family of other dogs. If shows signs of distemper or parvo, we test first.
But, thanks to the person who dumped the dog, the pup was in contact with my other dogs for the whole night.
In this photos, are the rescued dogs...which I love a lot n it's been months now, I'm taking care of them. I love them a lot, everyone of them...there was never a night I went back home to my kids. Every night, I stay with them n sleep with them....I love them with all my heart...it's been 6 mths now as I watched them suffer with Distemper virus....I cannot take it sometimes.
baby Shera...She is bout 8 mths old. She is distemper positive. I sleep with her coz in the nights she cries a lot. She can't walk properly. She can't see properly either. She sleeps in her urine n shit. I need to carry her up from the urine when she starts crying out for me. She can't get up nowadays...I need to be there. She loves to eat n she still recognizes me. I love her so very much...I can't stand to see her like this

 I'm not a professional, i'm not a 10 years experienced rescuer, we do all rescue and fostering with all the love and care we could provide. It's buried in the heart. I confess, i am lazy, but every time i rescued or foster a dog my heart will open up for them. My heart will make my brain function BETTER to work things out.

the best part of my rescued is, i don't throw them in a shelter and run. i don't dump them in front of another rescuer's door step and drive off. this is a NO no!

My parents are very against of me picking lost dogs or fostering. you won't know how much pressure i have. i was thinking, probably at the end of the "house war" day i'll have to find a friend to keep it, OR call up a person with experience to share some info. but i won't DUMP and run.

The moment when these people pick up a puppy, they probably thinking oh there's a SPCA right? oh i heard that there's a Home for dogs from this rescuer, we place them there, they will handle it.

That night, they probably went home and sleep tight, or happily smile in the morning thinking that they saved a puppy. IF YOU'RE LUCKY, yes, maybe you saved that one. but u caused problem to the others in the compound. More Stress given to the rescuer/handler.

What should i do then? 


If you're thinking of rescue a dog OR cat. Bare in mind that they are from the street OR their Mother are street dogs. Sad to say, Yes some street dogs do have disease in them. You want to pick them up? Fine, take them. but a basic check up at the vet is compulsory. ( Do not vaccinate them first )

Next thing you do is to quarantine them for 2 weeks. If they have Any disease in their body it will eventually flare between this 2 weeks. The reason i said no vaccination is because vaccination will bring the body immune down. it happened to my experience with a group of rescuers. We learned alot from this. Lets say your rescued puppy actually have parvo or distemper virus in their body, you vaccinated them, their body immune is so hard to fight the virus, they will get weeker and weeker. Vaccination is not advised by most of the vets. But de-worm can be done during this period.

Quarantine! it means isolate them from your own dogs too! I, Myself never isolate any rescued dogs when i first rescued. very lucky that most of them do not have virus. Just remember that do not let the dogs play together during this period. it is very important and you won't want to lose your own dogs do you?

ADOPTION? No! never put them up for adoption at the moment you picked up a stray. unless it's a lost dog (still better to quarantine). be responsible, even though you're giving out for free, please give to a loving home and give them something HEALTHY.

FOSTER CARE. If you rescued a puppy but couldn't take care of it, find a fosterer to take care for you. when i say foster care doesn't mean they are responsible for the "shits" u picked up. YOU are responsible of the puppy. don't just dump there and let the fosterer do all the work.

you don't have to be number ONE!

Just another nice video to share. i like this song. And i've watched this guy on X-Factor. fighting hard to top 10 then eliminated on top 3 if im not mistake.

he's not the X-Factor champion but he amazed many audience. Seeing him getting more and more successful (well i've liked his facebook page duh), it makes me feel not SO pressure. Everyone have been down the hill before.

for me, im always down the hill. but maybe chris rene has been down there longer than i do? drugs, sucky life all? Good song! and hell peeps! don't pressure yourself to be on top of everybody. look at him. he didn't make it to the First on X-Factor. yet his video was featured on youtube. :)

MDDB March Adoption Drive | Summit USJ

It's another MDDB adoption drive. this time i drag along my sister and brother. (er not snowie). well since they never been to adoption drive before and since they are free why not???

the time we reach is 12pm already. this is the crowd that time. not bad. but can be better.

 Some are here really needed a dog and some are just bringing their kids to interact with the dogs. i'd say its a good start :)

 And then it's time for the protest. Mandarin, omg! its been long since i write something in chinese. i couldn't think of what to write so they say it in cantonese/english and i translate it. that is one fugly word lol!

After my brother left with the protest group lin and i start selling t-shirts. she's still bit scare with the dogs. sometimes will hide behind me. and chichi(pic above) is the first dog she touched and she's proud LOL.

and then snowy(not my snowie) and her sister Flower came in. we love them both.

and now she's can pet the one that she scare the most.
this black dog escape from the playpen. end up they have to tie him at the car .









that afternoon lin feel that he's so alone so she pet him always. and she told me she'd adopt him if she's the adopters there.

he's finally back. and its around 3-4pm. he came back soaking wet . it's raining heavily. the sales stops too..

Many got adopted today. these are the ones left. :)

we left early that day. around 5 because i have to get caesar back home from the clinic.

Prince is the name. we used to meet this adopter with her previous 18 years old boxer at gasing vet. now that the boxer is gone. she's here to adopt a new prince. its so sad to see her telling the story of prince 1 and having tears in her eyes. i know she will be the best adopter! this young prince will have a good life.

Yellow vented Bulbul ~ Chirping birds part 2

                                                  so, this is part 2 of beauty of nature :P

                                                  as usual, they thought i'm the mother? worms? food?

 this is one horrible experience. i usually fix their nest because it's always about to fall. didn't know that they grown so fast. this day when i try to fix the nest, both of them fly out of the nest. took me few hours to grab them back. so small and fragile can't even find them.

the parents were chirping loud beside. probably think im a monster or a predator. the young bird i just put back to the nest fly downwards. both mom and daddy bird fly down to protect the baby bird, with their wings open. what a sweet and warming scene right. but they're not as big as the monster(me)! so the parents fly away when they see me get close to them. i manage to bring the bird back to the nest.

well that's a tiring experience so you won't be seeing part three anymore. On sunday, we saw one of the baby bird flying with the parents to my neighbour's house. dunno where's the other one but dare not to look at them anymore :P its their nature. let them be, let them fly ~

once again, the chirping birds,beauty of nature. February.

Yeah did i mention they were making nest rushing for Valentine's ?haha

The nest is longer this time. My mom even said maybe they gonna have more eggs haha

In fact, they didn't. Still the same, 2 eggs.

The egg didn't hatch for long time. I seldom see the parents. So i thought both are rotten already.

Till there's few days i see the parents keep coming. N i know they must be out already. Two beautiful bird babies pushing each other in the nest.

Its really happy to see both came to the world. Not just 1 like the last time.

So stay tuned for grown bird photo ya ! ;) they'll be very beautiful if u've read my previous post before the time i accidentally deleted them.

general motor diet

Yeah! We were talking about that on Facebook for a few days (amazed by friend's 7kg lost ) so someone suggest we do together.

Day 1 is a all fruit day! Its fine for me. I had 5 meals so i never feel hungry at all. N there's 8 cups of water to take. Which make me so full.

Oh ya,i got very bad headache on first day. Especially when I'm indoor or after sleep.

Day 2 is a vege day, same thing. 5 meals & 8 cups of water. We love the breakfast most! Because its a potato with butter.

While afternoon i got cucumber and tomato. Both raw.

Still have bad headache. Notice that my friends also had headache for the first few days so i leave it .

Day 3 is a combination of fruit and vegetable. I'm still having everything raw.

Still have slight headache. But getting better and better.

Day 4 is a fresh one for us because we get to make banana shake for ourself! Finally something cooked! Or well. .blended :p
My breakfast is the blended banana milk shake. Which is super good to me.

Lunch And dinner are cabbage soup. I cooked that well but probably too much salt? Bcuz it tasted awesome!

No more headaches on day 4. And what we can't wait is the next day! MEAT DAY !

Day 5 is suppose to be the beef day but i didn't have beef so i replace with chicken breast. I don't know how to grill so i pan fry with very little Olive oil. My Chicken is seasoned with salt pepper and butter. Which make it taste so good.

Well i woke up late on day 5 so i only had 2 meals today. No mid snack. And i consume 14cups of water.

I set day 6 to be my last day as im going out with family on day 7.

Day 6 is a vege + meat day. Same thing. I didn't have beef so i stir fry veges with cube chicken breast. My early breakfast is vege n chicken cube soup. Which i cooked it nasty. Lolll

The stir fried food tasted good tho...

So that's the end of my diet and i lost 3kgs. Which is amazing hehe !
