Dr Dog visit to Hua Ming Autism Center | 04/03/13

Dr Dog is back in action. i've missed out the first visit at DUMC. On Monday coordinator Salehin and i brought our dogs to the Autism Center for another mission. this time, 3 dogs only. Dr Kylie, Dr Sammy and Dr Snowie.

It was long since our last visit. In between those period Dr Snowie somehow develop some princess behavior and totally forgotten about her job as a doctor. Monday's visit made her a little nervous and yes she barked few times at other Doctors. She became so accustomed to being a queen. I'm so glad she's back at work finally!

If you were there, you'd notice how the kids react to dogs when we first entered, and then leave. It's great to see how happy they were. the doctors done a really great job in cheering them. It's really a great therapy for these kids. 

My total visit to Autism center so far is 3 times. This girl was always there. Excited but she'd cover her ears and smile. I decide to let her walk Snowie. She's really happy. She'd hop with one leg while one of her finger stuff into the ear. :)

He's one of the younger group of kids. Compare to the previous group, they are so daring to approach the dogs. Then i heard one of the teacher/volunteer said "They don't know it's a dog". i find it make sense. In fact they might think it's something new. not even realize it's a dog. Beside me, the kid was pulling Dr Kylie's tongue, eye, she touches odd parts. while this kid play rough to Dr Snowie. or tend to put his face so close to Snowie stare at her, pull her ears and furs. He even move his own body to an allowing pose to lye on Snowie like she's a pillow. i find it quite interesting and the sentence "They don't know it's a dog" popped in my head again. :)

I've been really busy recently, working late and wake early in the morning. Sometimes i wanted to skip this or that activity and lay back in bed but Dr Dog visit is one of it that i will avoid pulling myself off. No matter how tired i am. i get myself up. for one reason, it's a very great program.

at the end of the visit to find the kids happy. at the same time, Snowie get to social more. It's an awesome therapy not only for the needy but also to me. i believe the ones that benefit most is the handler of the Doctors. So much to experience and it makes us happy to see others happy.

Snowie's BIG 10! 06/01/13

What the? i did not post about her big ten? it's horrible!

I'm not a party person. and i wanted to throw a party for Snowie's 10th birthday. i planned a month earlier. trying to make it simple.

first, it was the cake! i'm so amazed how JC from pawz bakery take it so easy. i thought we need to book 3 weeks earlier. turns out she's the one who said we'll talk about it after christmas. hehe. When she ask me what design do i want. I'm stunned. because i've never thought of the design. Her cake on her 9th birthday was based on a cake from her facebook page. i start to flip through her page again. chosen two to three sample. but end up not using it. i told her i want a "princess" theme.

i always treated her like a queen. so i thought maybe it's fine? So after x'mas when i was so nervous about it. She showed me 3 design. and we both agreed on one of the design.

She gave an extra 3' cake for Snowie's mascot to sit on. it end up couldn't fit in the fridge that i have to take out the tray. and still end up her crown became pineapple.

I made a list of guest a month in advance. in fact it's the first party i organized. So i'm inviting a smaller group. People and dogs Snowie encounter. i took a day off on that saturday to get things prepared. i did not have the time to prepare much and damn me i should have booked ohana for this birthday celebration! End up my mom and sister help me with the food.

and it's also last minute i did a guest book for Snowie's 10 years of memories. what a waste that i lost so many great photos of her and her friends daisy and bobo and happy.

Snowie was the host of the day. She's the only dog unleashed. but well, according to my friends she's always the one to start a fight. She wants to dominate other dogs ..:\ as for Scurvie, she barked at every arrival of guest. her territory is taken. but she should be glad that she get to eat doggie cake and lots of eggs.

very happy that Corgie came along. thanks to Olivia. i really miss this boy. he's the one that everyone praise cute! in fact he is! very special one.

 well it says Dog food but our dear guest tend to look around that area. i guess the height of our notice was not right. it was a dog's view? haha

there's other dogs that i didn't take picture. like Pixie, Alice and Lizzy. Alice and Lizzy are the biggest but i always can't see them in the dark. :p

 happy birthday my princess. hope that we can celebrate every year! (if financial allows). next time we'll do it in Ohana o'right? haha

 can see that they like the chicken very much >.<

everyone is too generous. thanks on behalf of Snowie. can't believe her present is more than my birthday  seriously.. haha

i hope everyone did had a great day. i did not prepare much activities. maybe next time? ;D

let me end this post with our video on that particular day. every dog seems to be under control and i'm happy of that.

One Day ~~

At night when i was hugging Snowie to sleep, i think of many facts that will soon happen. I heard news from my mom that my uncle's german shephard passed away. He's only 10. that's pretty young for a dog to die - my opinion.

I loved every thing about my snowie. no one can replace her. i get her to sleep with me even i get back pain for squeezing in a single size bed. This morning i suddenly imagined her day to come. I thought i could be strong. very rational. able to accept that she will go sooner than i am. then i think deeper. imagine it. i couldn't smell her no more. i can't carry her, touch her, kiss her goodnight.

That feeling sucks. i start to tears with my cheek leaning to her butt. some day i don't get a welcome face, or innocent look, and i wont be looking for her when i don't see her.

more tears drop on her butt..i start to stop myself from thinking that far. every time i try to hold myself from being so depress so that i won't affect her. i guess what i can do is appreciate every moment with her now ;) i do hope she can live long enough to see my children :)

FOUND! Stuart Little is back!!!

Oh thank god! after searching that night around SS2, all troops went home feeling disappointed. My sister and i keep thinking of Stuart wandering outside looking for food. She even dream of giving free coffee to those who found Stuart.

My notification rang few times. i know it must be something regarding dogs or Stuart. People have been nice. They help search around. i pick up my phone and read a message, which i don't usually do in the morning. All message were normally ignored until working time. I saw a message and for the first time, sit up straight, wide awake! "Stuart came back home"

We don't know how it happen but apparently owner found dog barking outside. He ignored the first time and second time he look out Stuart was there. Luckily he don't have serious injuries. just small cut here and there. The stool was soft. I think he have been really stress this past 6 days.

Few days later we went there for a visit. everything seems fine. He's still as active as before. and still a daddy's boy.

We got him new collar and wear him the tag that i bought him.I am..somehow...relieved~ much relieved..

He is now bigger in size. Tail is still curled up. He looks happy and active most of the time. i hope he wont ever run out again.

i was so touch that day. so happy to see stuart living happily with new owner. and thought.. it's time for me to "get lost". So i thank owner personally and told my friend that i will not visit until next few years or so. so that owner have more freedom with him. *Gosh it feels like my son / daughter just got married LOL*

儿子，去哪啦？Stuart Gone Missing

My precious went missing. hate that feeling! will go searching him tonight. i hope i will be able to find him. He's a tough one and i believe he can make it through this. depend on who's the one who find him first. i know he's playing games with us. i like to think it that way! i hate thinking that way too!

He gone missing around SS2. He have this cute curly tail and sharp ears. He's a fast runner and always thin and lanky.
